Torch Relay....

The Olympic Torch came to central Alberta yesterday. Tatum and Keegan have been so excited for the past few weeks anticipating it's arrival. We headed out to Lacombe around 4:30 to see the torch run past us there. It was so exciting. Music was playing, everyone was cheering and it was one of those moments where you truly felt like you loved the country.....even though I tend to grumble about somethings all the rest of the time. After we saw the torch, we rushed back to Red Deer where we got all bundled up warm and headed out to Westerner park. There was approx. 15000 people there. It was insane. We sang and danced and cheered all the way up until the torch came running in. It was such a great experience, not only for the kids, but for us "bigger" kids. It brought back such great memories of the Olympics in Calgary......22 years ago. I remember so many great moments from back then and I'm sure the kids will remember this day......a few decades from now.

I love that Tatum even has a red coat! We are going tomorrow and I am so excited - I remember when the torch came through Lethbridge when I was a kid, so I'm sure your kids will always remember that, too.
