DK Cup!!

Keegan and I(Ryan) have been playing handball at night before he goes to bed for a year or two. A few weeks ago Keegan decided to make it into a tournament (with two players!) so he made up a bracket sheet. We called the tournament the DK (Daddy/Keegan) Cup. We have been playing the games for a few weeks leading up to the final. Today was the big day for the DK Cup final. We made a concession stand with treats, and pretend money so the audience (Missy and Scoutt) could buy them during the intermissions. Keegan also made the DK Cup out of some paper and a pop bottle which would be presented to the winner following the game. Tatum was the announcer, scorekeeper, music player, and the zamboni during the second intermission when the carpet was almost unplayable. Tatum did a really good job introducing the players (Me and Keegan) at the start of the game. She got the music going, shut off the lights, and put a spotlight (flashlight) on us as we ran into the arena (Keegan's room). Everyone was pumped up by the time the game started! The game started with a furious pace and the first period ended with Keegan up 16-11. Keegan made a game for the first intermission where you had to throw the ball into a box which had various slots. You could win money (more pretend money to buy treats) depending on which slot the ball went through. The second period was slower than the first although a fight errupted midway through the frame. The fans went wild! The second intermission featured another game for prizes and then some awesome dancing by Scoutt. The zamboni (Tatum) had to clear off the surface before the third period could start. I fought hard to catch Keegan in the third but in the end fell short. Keegan was then presented with DK Cup. Notice how happy he was, he did a couple victory laps and then he even kissed it!! The cup was sitting on the special box made by Keegan before the game. We later found out that it can't support more than 20 lbs (Scoutt). Following the game Tatum conducted interviews of the runner up (me) and of course the big winner, Keegan. We then had an autograph session where of course Missy was the biggest fan. All in all it was a pretty fun afternoon, who needs spring when you can have this much inside!!
